Megan Driscoll, CEO of PharmaLogics Recruiting, founded her company as a traditional recruiting firm within the bio-pharmaceutical space, but when the 2008 recession hit, she was forced to reevaluate. She took a hard look at the industry and decided she would take PharmaLogics in a new direction that she deemed less “sharky.” That direction included adapting to a more flexible, low-cost recruiting model in which fees were based on actual time spent, rather than a fixed rate.
Fun Fact: PharmaLogics’ mentorship program allows employees to counsel local teens.
The transition required a major mindset change, especially during a time when the move was particularly economically risky. Driscoll focused on recruiting high-quality candidates to support her idea that success was possible through non-traditional practices. The risk paid off, at least in part due to Driscoll’s leadership philosophy: nothing is impossible.
Outside the office, Driscoll is passionate about advocating for gender equality in the workplace. She shifted PharmaLogics’ marketing initiatives toward a more meaningful message. That message was delivered through Driscoll’s social media campaign, doit4yourdaughters.org, which promotes her message of gender equality.
