DRIVING TOWARD THE FUTURE
Bolt On Technology, LLC’s technology transforms the typical independent auto repair shop into a well-oiled, franchise-like machine. The company, which got its beginnings in the back of an auto repair shop, entered into a strategic partnership that caused its growth to skyrocket. In 2012, Bolt On licensed its technology to industry-giant Mitchell 1. As a leader in SMS and information in the automotive aftermarket, Mitchell 1’s partnership brought increased credibility to the Bolt On brand, and gave founder and CEO Michael Risich even more confidence in Bolt On’s product. With plenty of early adopters on board, the company started obtaining 80 to 100 new shops per month. By the end of the year, Bolt On had doubled its number of employees.

Though the company’s fast growth has created some growing pains along the way, Risich says he has learned to become comfortable with being uncomfortable. When times get tough, the team turns to the company motto: relentless innovation. This innovation is driven by Bolt On’s desire to really listen to each customer: “We act much like doctors. When a patient goes to the doctor and complains about a specific ailment, the doctor prescribes medicine or treatment to resolve that pain. We act the same way, except it is the pain that the business is feeling that we are trying to solve,” says Risich.
