FOUNDING PRINCIPLES
The primary values sustaining FedBiz IT are honesty, integrity, dedication and innovation. As a federal reseller, FedBiz has found these are the qualities that best resonate with its government customers. Since the company largely competes with other IT resellers and manufacturers for the federal government’s business, it has channeled these values into its business model.

ONBOARDING FAMILY
When hiring, FedBiz IT consistently looks for certain qualities in a potential candidate, including dedication and a willingness to learn. Beyond that, training is always required for entry-level sales positions at the company. This is true for family members and non-family members alike. The Tiagas’ two sons, Donnie and Marc, were both required to undergo sales training when they were brought onboard.

Quick Tip: “Let the end result of your dream become your focal point and the source of strength that fuels your path toward entrepreneurship.”

CULTURAL VALUES
When FedBiz IT opened its first office in 2013 in the HUBZone area of Leesburg, VA, it had one employee and focused on writing proposals to get established. Today, the company has seven employees, including five sales team members. FedBiz IT’s three-person executive team, comprising CEO and CFO Nina Tiaga, president Don Tiaga and vice president of business development Chuck Spence, gives the company structure and formality in an otherwise laidback environment.

LASTING LEGACY
As a company founded by veterans, entrepreneurs and people who love to volunteer, FedBiz IT wants to be remembered as an organization that cares about people and community. The company supports organizations that share its passion for veterans and service animals, small businesses and economic vitality, and community outreach – like Tree of Life, the Salvation Army, HUBZone, Veterans Moving Forward and Little League Baseball.
