In fact, much of CALIBRE’s workplace culture revolves around employee ownership and the stake employees have in CALIBRE’s success. The company operates on the knowledge that “employees who think and act like owners can improve corporate performance, can affect their professional development, and can share in the financial benefits of the company’s success,” says Martore.
Martore, other senior leaders and employees personally engage in activities to support the communities in which they live and work. CALIBRE’s employee-matching charitable donation program donated more than $550,000 in 2014 and 2015, but employees also gave their time and talents to good causes, including Wounded Warrior rides and the U.S. Marines’ Toys For Tots. Martore serves on the board of directors of Easter Seals for the DC-Maryland-Virginia area. The nonprofit helps children with disabilities receive early childhood development. Martore also endowed a scholarship for young children to attend the D.C. Child Development Center autism program.
