Dynamis, Inc.’s name is derived from an ancient Greek word that stands for heart, drive and spirit. “Our company is comprised of professionals who are passionate about making the world a better place and, with that in mind, achieving our mission of bringing innovative solutions to the challenges of our times,” says CEO John Milam.
Words of Wisdom: “This business is not for the faint of heart. You must have the will to win.”
Dynamis has created the “School of Athens,” a forum for employee learning and professional development. Most of the sessions are taught by employees or senior leadership. The company has also implemented an employee mentoring program, which allows employees to volunteer as mentors. Potential mentees can request to be paired with specific mentors based on areas of interest. Milam himself also leads group mentoring sessions, which allows employees to seek his advice on their career aspirations.
Dynamis also engages in another kind of mentorship: helping small businesses grow. “We always wished we had more support when we were growing as a business, so this is our way of giving back for the success we have achieved so far,” says Milam. “We see this as a way of creating strategic partnerships, as we will one day graduate from being a small business and will need good small businesses to partner with.” To give back to the community, Dynamis has provided donations each year to Autism Speaks and to local fire stations.
