NIKA designs, builds, remodels and maintains facilities that meet mission objectives, extend the useful life of facilities and equipment, meet Joint Commission requirements and help the government achieve sustainability goals, says president and CEO Kabir Chaudhary. “We are making facilities smarter, more secure, and more cost-effective.” NIKA is also giving back to the government and its industry by participating in the Mentor-Protégé Program.
Words of Wisdom: “Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. It requires tenacity and a willingness to put your pride on the backburner in consideration of long-term benefits and success.”
Over the past four years, NIKA’s growth has been driven by winning large IDIQ contracts. “To further encourage that growth, we are working to find additional IDIQ contracts that are a good fit, as well as other larger-volume task orders,” says Chaudhary. “Furthermore, we are working with our clients to move their task orders to our IDIQs — a benefit for the client, the government and NIKA.”
NIKA recently collected more than 300 pounds of nonperishable foods for Manna Food Center, as well as hundreds of toys for Toys for Tots. “The response to both drives has been outstanding,” says Chaudhary. “In fact, the Marines who picked up our Toys for Tots contributions were unprepared for the sheer volume of donations at our small company and had to leave to go get a bigger truck.”
