TISTA Science and Technology Corporation is an 8(a) and service-disabled veteran-owned small business. Those designations, combined with talent and expertise, enabled TISTA to win strategic work within the federal space, but TISTA executives realized early on that they would have to plan ahead if they wanted the company to be able to compete in the mid-tier and large business categories.
Words of Wisdom: “Many companies have struggled upon graduation from the small business size standard, so [we] put in place a strategic plan to ensure continued strong growth.”
During the second quarter of 2016, TISTA was awarded two large contract vehicles. One is the Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology Next Generation (T4NG) contract for IT infrastructure, operations and cybersecurity services, with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The other is with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services: the Strategic Partners Acquisition Readiness Contract (SPARC).
“By concentrating and focusing on our specific talents in core areas, we feel we are well positioned on our path to becoming an industry leader,” says Ahmed R. Ali, president of TISTA. “We are committed to mentoring and assisting companies via our TISTAConnect program, and we will continue to focus efforts on hiring and retaining the most talented employees in the industry.”
