Though the staffing industry is notorious for low employee engagement and high turnover, Jason Perillo says CCS Construction Staffing has been able to break free from that stereotype by creating a work environment that keeps employee happiness in mind when making decisions, creating policies or scheduling events. Within the small business, employees deal with each other on a personal level, and to foster this, CCS gets them out of the office to volunteer through organizations like Habitat for Humanity, to focus on fitness and to enjoy sports games together. In addition, CCS is always looking for new ways to keep employees positive, including adding a cereal dispenser and green tea dispenser to the kitchen, offering free lunches on Fridays, recognizing successes and allowing employees to work from home.
