Contango IT specializes in three areas of technology: IT consulting service and support, infrastructure, and custom programming and application development. The company’s growth has been driven by a number of factors, including CEO Danny Mizrahi’s dedication to daily breakfast meetings. “I’m a big subscriber to ‘never eat alone,’ and it’s where almost 100 percent of our sales come from,” he says. “I often play the game with people ‘pick a date in my calendar over the last six years, and I’ll bet you I had a breakfast meeting four or five out of five mornings.’ I always win, unless it was a vacation week.”

One of Contango IT’s most significant accomplishments was custom-building its own ticketing system for the company’s IT consulting and service business. “All of a sudden, we blinked and had about 200 clients,” says Mizrahi. “One of the reasons for this is because we had a system of allowing our clients to access their account online, to be able to see which technician did what, when they did it, for how long, and much more information.” This transparency sets Contango IT apart from the competition, he says. It also helps that the ticketing system is fully integrated with Google, meaning a single sign-on for clients. For future growth, Contango IT always has an eye on the next app it can bring to market.
