How Oneness Changes Everything: Empowering Business Through 9 Universal Laws

By Ratanjit S. Sondhe

The big idea: In 1980, Ratanjit Sondhe’s accountant and lawyer suggested that he file for bankruptcy for his company, POLY-CARB, Inc. Refusing to accept that as the solution, Sondhe got back in touch with his roots and one prime directive: “For true, sustainable and stress-free success and happiness, every thought, word, action and decision must be completely immersed in oneness.” Sondhe goes beyond IQ and EQ to bring spiritual intelligence to the business world. Through nine universal laws, Sondhe brought his company back from the brink and eventually sold it to The Dow Chemical Company.

Read it: Are you looking for alignment between your professional and spiritual lives? It’s not your traditional business book, but if you have an open mind, it could be worth the read. Sondhe aims to help business leaders get back to the true purpose of capitalism: making our best better, making a positive difference in the world, and becoming resilient and highest value-adding entities.

Skip it: If you’re not into the “touchy-feely” or spiritual stuff, you might find it a bit hard to swallow. There are some laws you’ll agree with (purpose and leadership among them), but some you may find a little hokey (like acceptance, freedom and grace). CEO
