Each year, SmartCEO honors one local business leader as its CEO of the Year, an individual who has demonstrated the outstanding leadership qualities necessary to build and grow a successful business. In conjunction with the magazine’s anniversary, the CEO of the Year graces the cover of our anniversary issue and is honored by more than 400 of his or her peers at the CEO of the Year Party. This event also showcases the success of SmartCEO’s Choice Awards winners, chosen from the past year’s award recipients: SmartCPAs, BRAVO! Women Business Achievement Awards, Future 50, SmartCFOs, Legal Elite and SmartCIOs.

Battle of the Beltways gathers business owners and executives from both Baltimore and Washington SmartCEO magazines in a head-to-head golf tournament. Both sides, 495 and 695, play their own 18-hole course for a day of networking, fun and golf to see which side will walk away the winner! Proceeds to benefit the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins.
